What did you do this past week?

This past week, I studied for the 2 exams I had and finished those exams Thursday night. My partner and I also finished the Allocator project. We got the HackerRank tests to pass on Thursday and we wrapped things up on Friday and Saturday.

What’s in your way?

Nothing is really in my way. The exams are finished, so I have more time to prepare for my interview that’s happening next week.

What will you do next week?

I will prepare for my interview, and I think project 4 is coming up, so I will probably get started on that as well.

If you read it, what did you think of The Liskov Substitution Principle?

Haven’t read it yet, will do that later today.

What was your experience of Test #1? (this question will vary, week to week)

I think test 1a was kind of intense because I was pretty nervous and wasted a lot of time on question 1, so I didn’t get a lot of time to work on question 2 and 3. Test 1b was much better, because I knew what the format was like and test 1a better prepared me for it, so test 1b was much better than test 1a. I think the collaboration part was helpful because we were able to discuss and learn from each other, also help each other.

What made you happy this week?

I made some soup dumplings this weekend, from scratch. I was super proud of myself because it’s not an easy recipe. It turned out to be super yummy and super successful, I think quarantine really improved my cooking skills.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I highly recommend the book “Head first design patterns”. It was recommended to me by my internship mentor. It talks about all the design principals in OOD, similar to the papers we have been reading, but more examples and easier to understand.
