What did you do this past week?

This past week, I finished Voting project with my partner, and I drove back to Austin from Dallas to visit a friend of mine. I also had a presentation for my other class and it went well. Assignment 3 is out, so I will get started on that ASAP.

What’s in your way?

Nothing is really in my way. School is going well and life too. This is the last semester for me so I feel more chilled and everything is just going smoothly. One thing that’s been taking a lot of my time is that I am not familiar with C++, so I had to spend a lot of time after class to do research on my own to fully understand this language.

What will you do next week?

I will get started on project 3 and start reviewing for the first exam. I think I will do find if I go over all the things that we have covered in class and the HackerRank exercises that we have done. I also have another exam on the same week of this exam, so next week will be pretty busy for me.

If you read it, what did you think of Why Is Silicon Valley So Awful to Women?

I think it was a great article, it noted a lot of phenomenons that are prevalent in the tech industry and they relate to each one of us, I learned that I need to be more aware of gender inequality issues and try to prevent them as much as possible.

What was your experience of arrays, equal(), and iterators? (this question will vary, week to week)

In SWE last semester, we covered A LOT about iterators in python, and I think I have a pretty good understanding about iterators; I have some memory about equal() from CS439, and arrays as well.

What made you happy this week?

I made some tiramisu yesterday and shared with my friends, it was gone in less than 3 minutes after I brought it out and everyone loved it.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Take a break from social media! My other class assigned this project to us, it was to unplug from social media for 24 hours and write down your reactions. I was surprised at how much my mood has changed and how much better I was feeling when I didn’t use social media for just one day! Try it out and you will be amazed.
